2.1.1.1. amazon marketplace -- there are marketplace partners in the U.S.A. that don't issue invoices

This happened to my company.

We were interested in books, that an amazon marketplace partner calling himself superbookdeals.de offered. As we only later happened to know, their offices are in 9002 Red Branch Rd., Columbia, MD 21045, but they obviously attempt to appear as inner-state (i.e. German) trading partner. For better understanding we will refer to them as superbookdeals.com.

We ordered the books. The books arrived several weeks after the promised arrival date. Never did we receive any kind of invoice. We are very satisfied with the books, but we need an invoice for proper book keeping. We announced, we would cancel the debit on our bank account, if we did not receive the invoice within 3 days. amazon's reaction was, that they would not issue the required invoice, but instead they would legally warn us regarding outstanding payments, if we did so. Of course it sounds rather frightening, if a company as big as amazon threatens a small company like us. We consider this some kind of fraud as well as from amazon as from superbookdeals.com alias superbookdeals.de. We can only warn you to use amazon's marketplace platform, if you do need an invoice. amazon does not look like helping the customer getting the invoice. To be continued.
